Extreme Makeover- ME Edition

Well girls, I am new to the ME edition.. however, this is right up my alley with my current situation.
In Dec 08 I found out that I had pre-diabeties. Which to me was terrible, as my husband suffers greatly from diabeties as well as my mother. I did NOT want to have to do shots as much as my husband. I see in his eyes the pain he goes through every time he has to shoot up.
Wasn't for me! I am not a needles girl AT ALL!
Luckly I have a GREAT doctor and she was totally behind me. She got me started on a meal plan and told me to get up off my backside and get to moving!
And I did! And lost 50lbs.
Well this week..(after last weeks NO exercise vacation hiatus) I got back on the workout train. I'll tell ya what.. I feel so much better doing it than not. Boy I could really tell just in my additude and in how I felt that I was working out again.
No more exercise vacations for me. I am a convert. I am on the workout wagon and can't get off.

So on to the Question?
What really gets you moving as far as music during your work outs?

Personally I like all types of music.. but I need a little hip hop or really fast funky music to get me going. I loveeeeee me some Justin Timberlake, T.I, Shakira, Jock Jams.. crazy stuff.. Whatever has a dancy beat and is fast paced! I love that in a work out.. Gets me so motivated!!
So tell me! What is your favorite work out songs? Who really gets you goin?

    I lost a bunch like that back before I got pregnant with baby #4...and I gained it all back and more!

    This time I'm gettin it off for good!

  3. Oh man, getting knocked off my work out routine is a killer for me! Whether it's an injury, a vacation or just a whole bunch of laundry... if I don't do it, I am screwed.

  7. Awesome on the 50 pounds that's amazing! I need to get my butt to the gym becuase you are right, you just feel so much better when you do. As far as work out music, it's definately gotta be up beat like black eyed peas, justin t, I got Ashlee Simpson's newest cd and i love to jog to that one, I also like Jet, The Used, Gwen Stafani, My Chemical Romance, Red hot chili peppers, linkin park, fall out boy, shiny toy guns, and my favorite - Paramore!

  8. Good for you keeping on the exercise wagon. It is hard once you fall off, I know. I am trying to get back after almost 2 months from an injury. What type of workouts are you doing? You must feel fantastic after losing 50# that is awesome. Keep up the great work.

    Awesome job on hitting the 50 lb. mark...that is amazing! I am at 20.6 now with 10 more to go! You are quite the inspiration :)

    I'm not much of a runner...but when I do, the Ipod must be cranked...and I like hip-hop/dance stuff too! Fergie gets me going!!

  12. I don't listen to music on my workouts -- I bring a friend :) We chat, we laugh, we have a great time. It helps me to look forward to going.

  13. I am so impressed that you have lost 50 lbs! My goal is to lose 25 lbs. I can't seem to get the weight off (maybe it will start to come off after I stop breast feeding my twins) My favorite music to listen to while working out is the crazy dance/techno music. I find it totally annoying any other time except while I work out. :)

    I made my playlist and have been walking/running for 2 weeks now. I sprained my knee a few days ago and have had to take a mandatory break though.... and boy do I feel like garbage. I want to RUN!

  15. Congrats on the 50 lbs!!!! That is awesome! I also dig funk or hip hop to get movin'. I don't typically listen to it in the car or anything, but it does get you moving!

  17. You've lost 50 pounds since December!? Are you KIDDING me!? That's awesome! I NEED to lose. I want to lose.

    My cousin has gestational diabetes, and is on her 3rd pregnancy right now. They said after this one, if she doesn't lose the weight, she will definitely develop Type II diabetes right away. Shots are NO fun. That is so awesome that you're taking action. Is it something that your hubby and mom can follow your lead on? Is it the kind that will go away with lifestyle change? Just wondering.
